This week was not as exciting as the others (thank you, readings days). Reading days are our "Fall break" essentially and it was a much needed break. Although, I got to work UC Smiles for the first time! This is an exciting and engaging event put on by the Dental Hygiene Program. Students of all ages (kids, middle school, and high school) come in, get educated about college, UC Blue Ash, and dental health. To top it all off, they get a free teeth cleaning! At the end of the event, there was a student who approached me and asked me tons of questions about the Student Ambassador position and college in general. This is that moment when you feel that a light is shining down on you and you're filled with joy. I love educating and informing future college students about how to get involved, why to get involved, why college is important, etc. She was a bright and motivated high school junior and it made me so excited to talk to her. She asked for my email and asked if she could contact me when it comes time for her to start applying to college and starting college. I was honored and did not hesitate. It is moments like this that inspire me to continue being as good of an Ambassador as I can be. It made my day, possibly my entire Ambassador experience! I also got mac and cheese and yogurt and anyone who knows me understand my love for food, so this was awesome, too.

I took full advantage of Fall Reading Days. I slept in on Monday and didn't even touch my homework (sorry UC, I was not catching up on my reading). Although, I was in for a wake-up call on Wednesday when I had to catch up. I have a Cognitive Neuroscience exam next Tuesday so I have been spending most of my time studying! I will update you all on the grade I receive next time.

Thanks for reading! -L
